Happy Thursday, South East London!
We took a little hiatus to stretch our legs at the tail end of summer, but we’re back to bring you weekly goings-on throughout the tri-borough area… (I’m giving “tri-borough” a shot - what do we think?)
First, however, we have some exciting news for anybody who’s a fan of the most popular Indian chain in the city…
📰 🍛 Dishoom is coming to Borough
Has anyone been to the Hop Exchange? It’s a beautiful grade-II listed building in Borough right by London Bridge. And, though it’s pretty, I’m not really sure what happens in there these days… until now.
Dishoom is taking over a large section of the space, officially opening in a few weeks. But here’s the good part. They’re having a soft launch the 12th–20th of October where they’re accepting walk-ins who will receive 50% off their meal! Worth stopping by. Check out their website for more info here.
📰 🧖 A new sauna & cold plunge in Bermondsey
Another welcome addition to the South East, Druid Street Saunas has opened in the Bermondsey railway arches. After a soft launch this summer, this sauna and cold plunge is fully up and running now.
There are a few of these types of spots popping up around the city and it’s about to be the perfect time of year to take advantage. Take a look here.
Stay safe. Stay cosy. Have a great weekend.

🖼️ Ghosts of the High Street art exhibition
This is just outside the South East London zone in Brixton, but close enough. Ghosts of the High Street gathers 25 years of David Western’s paintings, prints and drawings of a fast-changing South London. Much of what he captured has since been demolished or changed entirely. This is a trip down South London memory lane. And Saturday’s the last chance to see it. Have a look here.

🎬 Date-night cinema in Peckham
Rooftop Cinema Club is showing two very different kinds of date night movie on Friday. They’re starting with the time-hopping romance About Time at 6.15pm, followed by the very much non-romance, Obsession, at 9.05pm. I can’t speak for About Time, but I just saw Obsession. It’s worth seeing with a crowd. Find tickets here.

Hi. I love your newsletter but it’s just always a bit late for the weekend coming. It would be really helpful for you to highlight stuff that’s coming up in say 10 days time. Thanks
