S.E. London Could Get New Overground Station By 2028
Lewisham Council has approved extra funding for plans to build a new Overground station at Surrey Canal Road.
The station would be on the Windrush line, connecting Clapham Junction and Shoreditch High Street, and it would provide new links to Crystal Palace and West Croydon once complete.
But this funding comes only after years of setbacks, and further funding is needed to complete the project. If the funding does come through, planners expect the station could be open by 2028.

Dulwich Hamlet FC Gets New Stadium Approved
Southwark Council has finally approved plans to redevelop Dulwich Hamlet FC’s Champion Hill stadium. The scheme includes a new 4,000-capacity stadium and 219 new homes on surrounding land.
And that’s not all. The plans promise community access to sports facilities outside match days.
There was concern that the stadium would need to move to a new location. But these new plans and approval kept Dulwich Hamlet rooted in the area.

How Much Does a Car Park in Greenwich Cost? Upwards of £1.4 Million Apparently
Greenwich Council sold the small Abery Street car park on Plumstead High Street for £1.425 million at auction. That was three times higher than its guide price.
This was part of a whole package of car parks Greenwich sold to help close a budget gap. The car park that was expected to draw the highest bids was in Blackheath, but that one was pulled just before the auction because nobody was sure about the lease on the charging station. (Don’t you hate when that happens?)
Residents aren’t happy about the sale. They say the council did not consult widely before listing the car park, questioning whether enough assessment was done on how selling off parking will affect local high streets and vulnerable drivers.
